Oddly Inspired...

Some gray, wet, dank morning at the beginning of March, I was driving to work. I was tired, in need of a second cup of coffee, but in a good space. I love my job. I love my work. I sat behind a school bus as it's lights flashed and honestly I faded out for a few moments...

"HONK!!" the car behind shook me back to reality, as I sat for an instance too long as the bus pulled away. I sped to the office and broke out my notebook.

Two quick inspirations hit me and as soon as I got t the office I  quickly wrote down some notes...

INSPIRATION NUMBER ONE:
I had developed an odd habit of 3 trick runs in  my basement... what if I made a video about that? you know had some fun with it? I'd been skating well in the basement...

here's how it came out:

Honestly, I'm really pleased with the edit here, but it was hard to pull together the skating. For whatever reason the day I filmed this I was skating really poorly... I was having fun, I was smiling, but things that I could normally do first try, were battles... In my notes I had scribbled out the three trick lines I wanted to do... Those lines were't exactly what ended up in the final edit... If I was smart, I probably would have just turned the camera off, and filmed another day, but no one has ever accused me of being smart!  Anyway, I'm stoked with the product and it was fun to do...

INSPIRATION NUMBER TWO:

This kinda became a manifesto. Whatever this weirdo skateboarding thing is that I have been doing, this is what it is... Two years ago when I started, it was:

"how can I get around the park with out dying?"
that evolved into:  "a small quiver of tricks that I could do and not die"
to where I feel like I am now: "enough confidence to be dangerous, and a quiver of tricks that challenge me, and feel really fun to do, things that I can do and keep moving and try to not die..."

If that makes sense at all...

Anyway, I'm really happy with this... this is I think my third complication of best tricks that I can do, I'm shocked by the progression, something I would never have thought of my skating: to be growing at this stage of the game ... the skating was really challenging for me, and I played with different angles again too...  Super proud of this...

As if making silly old man skateboard videos wasn't bad enough, I had the gall to write a blog about the morning I thought of these god awful videos!  HA!    Creative Process of a hack indeed...

anyway, try to have some fun out there folks....
