Mission Report 12 September 2016

Frontside grinds always scared me. Twenty years ago I just couldn't do them on transition.
I've been stoked to add them to my quiver in recent weeks.
Since I started skating again I've kept essentially two of the same skateboards set up.
The cyclocrosser influences my skating.
Breaking in the new board last weekend.

a little too fast...
a little too aggressive...
a little too out of control...
uncharacteristic for me.

Frontside grinds feel so good.... Until they don't
my flow was off today for sure... I was forcing the issue a bit...
Throw the back truck over the coping...

Mission Control we have a problem

I found myself crumpled up in the bottom of the transition...
exactly the fall I didn't want to take...
I brushed myself off, made myself go back and make few but still felt out of control...

heavy hitters started to show up and I knew it was time to call it a day...
normally I love mixing in with these guys, but today  I just didn't have the confidence...

With the heat, I was super busy in the pit feeding riders... I didn't get many shots from the weekend.

Jen, Anne and Monk compare notes prior to Saturday's Fairhill Cyclocross...

Love this shot from Bill White...

Derek was amazing rallying the kids and all the racers. He had a great time having the BYC team cheer for the other racers too... Beautiful to see...
